A black man who hasn't a clue of how the law works.

Affirmative Action brought us many a politician who didn't know how to walk and chew gum at the same time. Take AG Ellison.

Claimed that no laws were broken when the insurrectionists stormed a church. Let's see what I found.

Based on the reporting, these are the specific Minnesota laws that could apply to the protest inside Cities Church:

1. Disorderly Conduct (Minn. Stat. § 609.72)

  • Disturbs an assembly
  • Causes alarm, anger, or resentment
  • Involves noisy, boisterous, or offensive conduct

A coordinated disruption inside a worship service fits the statute.

2. Interference With Religious Worship (Minn. Stat. § 609.505 or § 609.74‑75 equivalents)

Minnesota has laws prohibiting:

  • Intentional disturbance of a lawful assembly
  • Interference with religious worship

The SAN report notes that state laws prohibit threats, violence, or physical attempts to stop people from worshipping, though peaceful protest outside is protected. If protesters:

  • Entered the sanctuary
  • Blocked aisles
  • Approached congregants
  • Created fear or intimidation

…that can qualify as unlawful interference.

3. Trespass (Minn. Stat. § 609.605)

If protesters entered the building without permission or refused to leave when asked, that is criminal trespass.Church officials said protesters “accosted congregants” and created an intimidating atmosphere, which strengthens a trespass case.

And I'll not go into the Federal laws that were broken.
